Right Start Agency Owner Mentorship Program
The Big “I" Diversity Council is pleased to launch its fourth mentorship group for developing agency owners! This six-month program will help you better position your agency for success so that you can both gain and retain appointments with top carriers.
Participant Requirements The program focuses on providing support and mentorship to agency owners underrepresented in the insurance industry. Please see below for more information.
Current member of any Big “I" state association;
Identify as one of the following or another underrepresented identity: some examples are racial/ethnic minority, under the age of 42, LGBTQ+, Veteran, OR woman;Agency owner for 2 years OR related industry experience;Agency's revenue at least 100k and/or a 3-5 year business plan covering your agency's growth strategies, vision, mission, marketing plans, financial projections, and key milestones.
Mentorship Project Overview During the 6-month mentorship program developing agency owners (mentees) will have two mentors
(1) top carrier representative and (1) seasoned agency owner
Both mentors will individually connect with the developing agency owner for a one-hour monthly call to further discuss the principles outlined in the Right Start Training Series, including: 1. Understanding Your Agency Operating Style2. Employees, Your Key to Increased Productivity 3. Preparing for the Company Visit
4. Yearly Planning & Agency Goal Setting
Mentee Commitment
Must attend one of the scheduled orientation calls.Must connect with each mentor (company and agency owner) monthly for one-hour throughout the duration of the program.
Must complete each of the four Right Start Training Series one-hour presentations throughout the duration of the program. Please note: participation in this program does NOT guarantee an appointment with any of the involved carriers.
