ALEXANDRIA, Va., August 6—Zurich North America CEO John Amore and Progressive Insurance CEO Glenn Renwick have been added to a highly regarded panel of insurance leaders who will discuss the state of the industry and its future during a roundtable discussion at the opening session of the Independent Insurance Agents & Brokers of America’s (IIABA) Las Vegas InfoXchange, the association announces today.
More than 2,000 independent agents, brokers and other insurance professionals are expected to attend this year’s IIABA annual meeting. This premier Big “I” event—one of the industry’s largest and most successful—will be held Sept. 21 to 24 at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas.
“John Amore and Glenn Renwick are the ultimate additions to a talented and driven CEO panel that will analyze critical issues facing the agency system and the insurance industry as a whole,” says IIABA CEO Robert A. Rusbuldt, who will moderate the discussion. “No topic will be out of the realm of the experience and expertise of these respected industry leaders. Current market trends, federal and state legislative initiatives, technology, diversity and branding are just a few of the issues that our CEO panelists will evaluate.”
Other CEOs joining Amore and Renwick on the panel will be Dan Carmichael of Ohio Casualty Group, Jeff Post of Fireman’s Fund Insurance Company, and Cathy Rein of MetLife Auto and Home.
Amore was named to his current position in 2001 after previously serving as CEO of the Zurich U.S. pool of companies and as CEO of Zurich North America Specialties. He joined the companies that today make up Zurich North America in 1992. His prior experience also includes serving as vice chairman of the Commerce and Industry Insurance Company, a member of the American International Group, and CEO positions with a number of energy and construction property-casualty operations.
Renwick has been Progressive CEO since 2001. He joined the company in 1986 as auto product manager for Florida. He then became president of the company’s Mid-Atlantic division and ascended through the ranks to his current position.
The CEO roundtable is expected to be one of the liveliest and most anticipated events at the Las Vegas InfoXchange. In addition to the CEO panel discussion, the IIABA annual meeting will feature thought-provoking and nationally recognized business speakers, including keynote speaker Howard Putnam—the former CEO who resurrected now highly profitable Southwest Airlines. The event also features innovative continuing-education (CE) workshops designed to improve agency performance by providing attendees the tools to take their businesses to the next level. Attendees also can experience the largest trade show in the industry and take advantage of numerous networking opportunities with agents, brokers and the many industry representatives who will be attending the event.
Agents and brokers who register by August 15 receive a super-saver $75 discount on the registration fee. Register online and find other information about the InfoXchange.
