JEMARION JONES IS NEW IIABA MANAGER OF MEDIA RELATIONS
ALEXANDRIA, Va., Jan. 15 - Jemarion Jones is the new manager of media relations for the Independent Insurance Agents & Brokers of America (IIABA), announces Jeffrey A. Myers, the association’s vice president of communications.
In this role, Jones will serve as an information resource for trade and consumer print media on all general non-legislative issues. Additionally, she will be the communication liaison for various IIABA programs including InVEST, Best Practices and Trusted ChoiceSM.
Jones comes to IIABA after serving as a corporate communications specialist for Sallie Mae. Prior to that, Jones served as technical writer/editor for the National Cancer Institute in Bethesda, Md. Earlier in her career, Jones worked as a producer for KHBS-TV in Fort Smith, Ark.
“I’m extremely pleased that Jemarion has joined the Big ‘I’ family,” says Myers. “She brings a fresh perspective that will help us tremendously when working with print reporters. I am confident that she will do a great job of promoting IIABA to the trade and consumer press.”
Jones grew up in Memphis, Tenn. and holds a bachelor’s and master’s degree in journalism from the University of Memphis. She replaces Kevin Callahan who left IIABA last month for a press secretary position with a member of congress.
