ALEXANDRIA, Va., Feb. 18, 2014 — The Independent Insurance Agents & Brokers of America (IIABA or the Big “I”) has redesigned its member publications and website with new content and updated formats.
“After two years of research and work, the Big ‘I’ is proud to announce a new design and structure for Independent Agent magazine, the member e-newsletters and iamagazine.com,” says Robert Rusbuldt, Big ‘I” president & CEO. “As part of our mission to provide our members with a sustainable competitive advantage, which includes timely and important information to protect and promote their businesses and profession, we have also restructured our electronic newsletters and created an iPad app.”
Independent Agent magazine has been the flagship publication for the Big “I” since 1903. In addition to a fresh design, the magazine now includes a new content mix and shorter and easier-to-read articles.
IA magazine iPad app. To download the IA magazine app, search “Independent Agent magazine” in the iTunes store. The app is open and free to download, and new issues are published at the beginning of each month. The app is currently only available for iPad, but will soon be available for Android.
IAmagazine.com has been redesigned to offer additional content with a cleaner, more user-friendly layout. Stories and other updates will be posted more frequently.
Electronic newsletters. The Big “I” will now produce three electronic newsletters in place of the former weekly “Insurance News & Views” that will be available at iamagazine.com.
1. Markets Pulse will highlight market trends and sales strategies and will be sent via email weekly on Mondays.
2. News & Views, a roundup of the week’s online articles covering industry news and analysis, technology, coverage issues, government affairs and political updates from Capitol Hill, and agency management topics, will replace the former “Insurance News & Views” and ship out weekly on Thursdays.
3. Fast Focus will feature the top stories on a specific topic from the past month, based on an editorial calendar, and will be sent via email monthly on the last Friday of the month, beginning Feb. 28.
The new magazine and electronic newsletter format will also allow for more advertising options. Harleysville and SIAA were silver sponsors of IA magazine’s relaunch and other advertisers are already partnering with IA on various print and digital products. The
IA magazine press kit and
editorial calendar are available online.
