Alexandria, VA, June 14, 2021— First Choice Agents Alliance (FCAA), one of the largest insurance networks in the U.S., donated $10,000 to Invest™, a nonprofit organization administered by the Big “I." Invest educates high school and community college students about insurance and encourages them to pursue careers with independent agents and brokers.
“FCAA is proud to donate these funds to an organization that is laser focused on educating, training and attracting new people to the independent agency system," said Diane Wagner, chief operating officer of FCAA and an Invest board member. “And we plan to continue raising money for Invest at our September annual meeting in Charlotte, North Carolina. Our agents tell us their No. 1 barrier to business growth is a lack of trained staff and FCCA believes every single agent and agency network should be supporting the work of Invest."
Invest's interactive online curriculum teaches students to be smarter insurance consumers and offers them a chance to explore mentorship, apprenticeship and employment opportunities in agencies and insurance companies. Invest seeks to offset a growing talent gap as workers retire from the insurance industry.
“Invest is grateful for FCAA's generous support of our organization and it is one of the first agency networks to partner with us in our mission to help independent agencies attract more people into an exciting and lucrative career field," said Deborah Pickford, executive director of Invest. “On behalf of all independent agencies and Invest, we thank FCAA and Diane Wagner for their continued leadership in working to strengthen the insurance talent pipeline."
