ALEXANDRIA, Va., Dec. 8, 2010 – Trusted Choice®, the consumer branding program for independent insurance agents and brokers, has presented the Neefus-Stype Agency (NSA) headquartered in Aquebogue, N.Y., with the Trusted Choice®/Dan Fulwider Agency of the Month.
“We are proud to name the Neefus-Stype Agency as the Trusted Choice®/Dan Fulwider Agency of the Month,” says Dave Evans, Trusted Choice® executive director. “The NSA team not only exemplifies the Trusted Choice® Pledge of Performance, but they are active in numerous philanthropic and service efforts in their community.”
The community service award is named after and honors Dan Fulwider, who was the Independent Insurance Agents of Iowa government affairs coordinator and membership liaison. This restructured recognition program now combines the prior Agency of the Month award with the Dan Fulwider Award. Fulwider, who lost a valiant battle with cancer in 2008, was a huge supporter of Trusted Choice® whose dedication to his community and the causes he believed in inspired all who knew him. This award recognizes member agents who truly embody the Trusted Choice® spirit and demonstrate the commitment to their communities by going above and beyond in volunteering time and enthusiasm to causes close to their heart.

As the recipient of the Trusted Choice®/Dan Fulwider Agency of the Month, NSA receives a $250 contribution for the charity of their choice. The charity they selected is the North Fork Breast Coalition. Two of the NSA Group staff members serve on their board and the agency has actively supported the organization for many years.
NSA’s history dates back to 1926 when The See Neefus Agency was founded in Riverhead, N.Y. a few miles from their current main office in Aquebogue. The Neefus-Stype Agency was formed in 1999 with the merger of See Neefus and Val Stype & Sons, of Mattituck. Over the past many years NSA has grown organically; policy holder by policy holder, referral by referral with their mission of exceeding their client’s expectations. In addition to their organic growth, The Three Village Bennett Agency of Port Jefferson and the Joseph L. Townsend Agency of Greenport have joined the NSA Group family over the past few years.
