ALEXANDRIA, Virginia, July 1, 2016—InVEST and Independent Agent (IA) magazine are recipients of Annual Insurance Marketing & Communications Association (IMCA) Showcase Awards. IMCA’s Showcase Awards recognize outstanding marketing and communication work in the insurance industry that promote higher standards of excellence.
InVEST, the insurance industry’s premier program to improve insurance literacy and attract new talent to the industry, was voted Best in Show in the “External Corporate Electronic or Interactive Communications” category for its
2015 website relaunch.
The website has three target audiences: students, teachers and volunteers from the insurance industry. For students, it proves interactive and fun resources to learn about insurance and careers in the industry. Teachers can find free instructional resources including lesson plans, presentations, an e-book and quizzing software. Insurance professionals who want to give back to the community or create a talent pipeline for their agency will find tools to guest speak, create internships and much more.
“InVEST is honored to have our website relaunch recognized with an IMCA ‘Best in Show’ award,” says Cindy Hower, InVEST board chair and president of Kellerman Insurance, an independent agency in Holton, Kansas. “The project was a team effort that was developed over the course of several years to ensure that our students, teachers, volunteers and industry leaders could all find the latest information at the click of a mouse or tap on a screen.”
IA magazine, the monthly member publication of the Independent Insurance Agents & Brokers of America (IIABA or the Big “I”), was voted Best in Show in the “Publications” category.
“Independent Agent (IA) magazine is proud to receive this prestigious award for the third year in a row,” says Bob Rusbuldt, Big “I” president & CEO. “We are excited to see our efforts recognized. IA magazine continues to evolve to provide vital information and meet the needs of independent agents and brokers.”
This is the 58th year that the IMCA Showcase Awards have recognized the most effective and innovative work from the best minds in insurance marketing and communications. The awards recognize outstanding marketing and communications work in the insurance industry and promoting higher standards of excellence. The
full list and additional information are available on the IMCA website.
InVEST develops future industry professionals by teaching high school and college students about insurance, risk management and financial services through academic programs and scholarships. In high schools, the program offers students a business curriculum which teaches them about insurance in general as well as the dynamics of insurance agencies and companies. At the college level, the program develops students’ risk management and financial analysis skills. As a result, approximately 26,000 students from more than 800 InVEST programs across the country are better equipped to pursue careers in an agency, company or other insurance industry organization. As a 501(c)(3) educational trust, InVEST benefits from the support of numerous insurance organizations, hundreds of agencies, brokers and volunteers.
IA Magazine primarily serves property-casualty independent insurance agents and brokers and is a benefit of membership of the Independent Insurance Agents & Brokers of America. IA gives independent insurance agents access to the critical trends, analysis and tools they need to sell efficiently and effectively. In addition to thought-leading analysis of industry trends and market conditions, IA covers property-casualty coverage changes and new products, interprets legislative issues, and delivers the strategies managers need to grow their agencies organically. IA reaches agents across all platforms: the print magazine, website, e-newsletters and an iPad app.
