The Big “I” Diversity Task Force has a
wealth of resources available to help independent agents market better to diverse constituencies. These tools are available at no-cost to Big “I” members and are available for you to promote to your agents.
Laying the Groundwork
The primary goal is to empower members to become more engaged in their communities and ready to communicate their message in a relevant manner that show respect for others cultures, values, languages and priorities.
Agents and state association representatives and more than 10 insurance carrier representatives met for the Big “I” Diversity Task Force meeting in January. The group discussed how to more clearly align efforts with the mission, which is to create and foster an independent agency force that is inclusive of a variety of perspectives, skills and backgrounds.
Tools for Success
The Big “I” Diversity Task Force is driving its mission by creating tools to help independent agents remain both competitive and relevant within the changing marketplace.
How to Market to People Not Like You—a program consisting of eight
webinars, workbooks and informational guides—was developed by the Task Force working jointly with diversity marketing expert Kelly McDonald of McDonald Marketing.
Other programs include providing information and guidance to assist minority agents with carrier appointments, building strategic alliances with organizations that represent diverse agents and providing training and education to help agencies market to and reach a more diverse clientele.
