This month, the Big “I” says farewell to Jeff Yates who is retiring from the Big “I” after nearly four decades of service. Throughout his career, Yates has served in a variety of roles at the association and in the industry.
Here are some of the highlights:
August 25, 1975 Jeffrey M. Yates joins the National Association of Insurance Agents (NAIA), located in New York City, as Assistant General Counsel
August 26, 1977 Jeff was promoted to Associate Counsel
October 19, 1978 Jeff was promoted to General Counsel
May 1, 1980 Jeff was promoted to Associate Executive VP & General Counsel
September 1, 1982 Jeff was promoted to Executive VP & General Counsel
May 1989 Jeff Relocates to the Alexandria area, with his family from the Big Apple as the Big I NYC offices close. He worked at IIAA’s satellite office in Springfield, VA until September 1989, when the new IIAA offices officially opened for business, in Old Town Alexandria, VA
July 27, 1998 Jeff was promoted to Chief Executive Officer, Industry & State Relations
November 7, 2000 Jeff retires after 25 years of dedicated service with the Big “I” AND is awarded “Lifetime Parking Access” to the Alexandria Big “I” Office
April 30, 2001 Jeff returns to the IIABA as the Executive Director of the ACT Program
August 2012 Jeff and his lovely wife Lauran move to Bozeman, Montana in preparation for their retirement in the mountains
February 28, 2014 Jeff retires from the Big I and Executive Director of ACT to explore his new home area in Bozeman, Montana with his lovely bride Lauran
