SENATE MAJORITY WHIP MITCH McCONNELL TO SPEAK AT BIG “I” NATIONAL LEGISLATIVE CONFERENCE
Nationally prominent Republican leader to speak at April 21 breakfast
WASHINGTON, D.C., February 28—Senate Majority Whip Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) will speak to members of the Independent Insurance Agents & Brokers of America (the Big “I”) during its National Legislative Conference next month.
McConnell will speak at a breakfast April 21 to approximately 1,000 independent agents and brokers from across the country who will be attending the Big “I” National Legislative Conference. Participants also will include agent and broker leaders from McConnell’s home state.
The Big “I” National Legislative Conference is the insurance industry’s best-attended, most effective legislative meeting. This year’s event will take place April 20 through 22 at the Grand Hyatt Washington.
“In his 20-year Senate career, Sen. McConnell has distinguished himself as a leader and a statesman, and it is an honor to have him address our membership at this event,” says Big “I” CEO Robert A. Sen. McConnell was first elected to the Senate in 1984. That year, he was the only Republican challenger in the country to defeat a Democratic incumbent, and the first Republican to win a statewide race in Kentucky since 1968. Senator McConnell's landslide victory in 2002, with 65 percent of the vote, was the largest margin of victory for a Republican in Kentucky history.
