EMILY CRANE IS NEW BIG “I” MANAGER OF MEDIA RELATIONS
Will serve as information resource on all non-legislative issues
ALEXANDRIA, Va., March 23 - Emily Crane is the new manager of media relations for the Independent Insurance Agents & Brokers of America, announces Cliston L. Brown, the association’s director of public affairs and media relations.
In this role, Crane will serve as an information resource for trade and consumer print media on all non-legislative issues. Additionally, she will be the communication liaison for various Big “I” programs, including InVEST, Best Practices and Trusted Choice®, among others.
Crane comes to the Big “I” from Campbell-Crane and Associates, a Washington, D.C., lobbying firm, where she coordinated the firm’s fundraising activities, arranged meetings with members of Congress and staff, provided legislative research on various economic and health-care issues, and also gave logistical support to clients including the American Burn Association, The Chubb Group, Raytheon, Merck & Co., and others. Crane also did press outreach during the 2004 election campaign for the Louisiana Democratic Party. She is a graduate of Boston College.
“I am thrilled to have Emily as the newest member of the Big ‘I’ team,” Brown says. “She has a variety of experiences that will serve her well in this new role, and her ability to relate to people, and communicate clearly and effectively, will make her an asset both to the Big ‘I’ and to the reporters she’ll be working with.”
Founded in 1896, the Big “I” is the nation’s oldest and largest national association of independent insurance agents and brokers, representing a network of more than 300,000 agents, brokers and their employees nationally. Its members are businesses that offer customers a choice of policies from a variety of insurance companies.
