Scott Bushnell
Scott Bushnell, CPA, CFF is the founder and CEO of Business Interruption Consulting, LLC, a full-service Forensic Accounting consulting firm. Scott began his career in 1995 after graduating from Southern Methodist University's Cox School of Business with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in accounting. His first foray into the insurance industry was working as a Forensic Accountant for Campos & Stratis auditing business interruption claims for adjustors and insurance companies. Through his career he moved up to Deloitte & Touche, followed by Ernest & Young, Marsh, and finally Crawford & Co. where he served as a regional managing director for forensic accounting in Sydney, Australia.
Upon returning to the United States, he started Business Interruption Consulting to assist clients with analyzing, documenting, and quantifying complex first party Business Interruption claims and provide expert witness services for clients in litigation.
Mr. Bushnell has assisted both insurance companies and insureds in a variety of industries and businesses with complex business interruption, property damage, and fidelity claims. He has testified in both state and federal court in a variety of cases. Additionally, he has provided fraud investigation related to claims and commercial disputes.
Mr. Bushnell has authored several articles in insurance journals regarding business interruption and complex claims. He routinely provides education on business interruption, damages, and forensic accounting to insurers, brokers, attorneys, and accountants.
